I held office hours until 10pm last night for my 100 guests in my hotel and then headed to the other hotel this morning for office hours. Both were very helpful for everyone, thankfully because I had been here before and had plenty of good suggestions.
One of the things I love about my job is the fact that my guests are elderly, have worked their entire lives, retired and choose to spend their days traveling and learning as much as they can about new places, cultures and food. I just love it!
I set up quite a few online tours for them when we were on the ship and then let them use my phone yesterday and this morning for phone reservations. Most chose to visit the Blue Mountains for the day, but some went to the opening of Carmen at the Opera House. I just LOVE Carmen. Some went yesterday to the 2pm performance of the Sydney Orchestra performing Brahms and Tchaikovsky, lucky folks. Many went to the zoo to hug a koala, and I lovingly warned them what happened if they pee on them! Shocker, you may get gonorrhea. Yes, koalas can give you the Clap. Look it up if you don’t believe me.
I spent the rest of the afternoon walking around town again until my feet were yelling at me. It was also so flipping hot and humid outside.
The architecture here is phenomenal!
