The Navajo Nation is nearly the size of West Virginia, 27,000 sq. miles. It occupies pieces of 4 states and has a population of almost 375,000.
Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park, in southern Utah, is where I took these photos.
It is quite the drive to get here but it is well worth it. Considering how large the Navajo Nation is, you only see a very tiny portion of how they live their lives. Very small towns, cattle ranches, many delapidated trailers, a few modern homes, several small schools, and lots of unocupied, untouched land. It is gorgeous.
