One of the disadvantages about being a tour director, as opposed to someone who works in an office, is that you rarely get to meet the operations team who puts together the tours you lead. Basically, your colleagues. The only people we really interact with in our industry is our fellow tour directors we see on the road, drivers, and any of our vendors.
Today, I had to head into the office to pick up some paperwork, luggage tags, and brochures for my two upcoming Australia and New Zealand Cruises. I got to hang out with everybody in the office for a little while…really cool group of people. I probably won’t see them again until next year’s Rose Parade tour, even though I will be running tours for them for 3 months solid this upcoming summer.
