Every year I have this group and I absolutely love them. We always have a wreath laying at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and one young lady was dressed in her traditional Native Hopi dress. Just gorgeous. She had to get special permission from her Tribal Elders to even step foot in a cemetery.
Today was just awesome. We went everywhere in Arlington, spent 3 hours there, and could have seen even more.
We then went to the Newseum for a visit and lunch before heading with my 3 Group Leaders to Starbucks while our high schoolers wandered museums on their own for a few hours. 80% of the group was really looking forward to visiting the Holocaust Museum so they ended with that before dinner.
Pasta dinner and then the World War II memorial, the Vietnam, Lincoln and Korean War Memorials.
11 miles walked today.
An evening at the memorials…
