Day 1- Richmond

June 22, 2020

Officially leaving the apartment for the first time in three months is an odd feeling. The car is packed, my goodbyes to my amazing roommates were said, and the navigation set for Rick’s house in Richmond Virginia.

My travel companions at Mile 0

The plan for the next three days is amazing! Today, lunch at Michie Tavern, where the best fried chicken in the country is served (and I have certainly searched), a walk around downtown Charlottesville and then back to Rick’s charming Colonial where we shall tell tales and drink Chardonnay on the veranda while he calls me Mary Pat. Apparently, Elizabeth Ann is not a Southern name, so Mary Pat I have become.

Oh. My. Lord. Lunch is served.

Even lawn lions are protecting themselves from Covid-19

Tomorrow, we are heading to photograph the Old Point Lighthouse at Fort Monroe near Virginia Beach before spending the entire day at the beach.

ok, so Rick had these GLORIOUS mushrooms growing in his yard. I had my creepy doll travel companions, so here you are.

Our last day together will be a trip to Williamsburg. So excited!

More to come…
